June 15-16, Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan Taekwondo Championship (ITF) among young men (15-17 years) and adults (18-39 years). The solemn opening ceremony of the competition took place on 15 June in the capital's sports complex "Sahovat sport". Speaking at the event, First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Oybek Kasymov noted that the President pays special attention to the promotion of physical culture and sports. He also informed about the work being carried out to increase the number of taekwondo among the youth and officially opened the competition. The President of the National Association of Uzbekistan Taekwondo (ITF) Laziz Khasanov said that the number of people engaged in taekwondo has reached more than 40 thousand people and that our athletes won 14 gold medals at the Asian Championship in April. said that the championship was also organized to select sportsmen for the next prestigious competition.
 1100 athletes from all over the country participated in the competition, organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Association of ITF Taekwondo.
